From its completion until 1966, it served as the headquarters of the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong. On 20th Oct 2023, it was gazetted as a Declared Monument by the HKSAR Government.<br>The Bridges Street Centre has undergone more than a century of changes, adapting to the allocation of resources by the association, transitioning from a service model primarily led by social work counseling to a non-subsidized youth service centre focused on recreational and physical activities.
